Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care

Welcome to the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care

The Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care is a government agency that regulates respiratory care practitioners and their services. The KBRC was established in 1990 to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from unsafe practitioners and practices. The updated KBRC website will help therapists find information they need to help answer questions they have and also inform them of vital news such as laws & regulations, CEU information and correct forms & applications.

The KBRC Board is self-supporting and receives no KY general fund tax appropriation. It is funded through fees assessed for licensing its professionals.

Online KY Status Verification now available

The KBRC now has online verification of respiratory care therapists. This is for verification only. All other information must be requested by contacting the KBRC Board directly. Newly licensed therapists may take several days to be listed and may be verified by the KBRC by fax if needed. If all that is needed is verification in hand from the KBRC, simply print details page from browser printer and end verification process.
Note: The official verification details generated by this application is designed to give respiratory depts. and H.R. depts. evidence of Kentucky licensure and will not show or convey any disciplinary actions. It is intended to show name, status, issue date, expiration and certification number. States will not accept this verification form as a State Verification due to lack of disciplinary status. State verification forms and all written requests for a letter of good standing should be mailed to the KBRC office with $15.00 fee to be sent to the appropriate Board as well as verification of any disciplinary actions.
